Karnataka government order to increase DA from 35% to 38.75%

Government of Karnataka Order No: AE 19 SRP 2023, Bengaluru dated 21.10.2023 has ordered to increase the rate of dearness allowance from 35% to 38.75% with effect from 01.07.2023.

The Karnataka state government has given good news to the employees of four corporations including KSRTC, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has issued an order to increase the gratuity allowance.

In order to implement and pay the revised fares in the State Transport Corporations by the Honorable Managing Director, KSRTC Corporation, the following action is to be taken.

Implementation of dearness allowance rates in the monthly wages of November-2023 and onwards in four transport companies.35 to Be.38.75 hands higher. The officers and staff of the contractor will be separately ordered to pay arrears of dearness allowance from July-2023 to October-2023.

How much gratuity increases:

In the order Karnataka Government’s order dated 21/10/2023 has been ordered to increase the rate of gratuity from 35% to 38.75% with effect from 01/07/2023.

Hon’ble Managing Director, KSRTC Corporation has stated that the following steps will be taken in order to implement and pay the revised gratuity rates in the State Transport Corporations.

In all the four transport corporations, the rate of gratuity in the monthly salary of November-2023 and onwards will be per cent. Increasing from 35 to 38.75% implementation. KSRTC Corporation officers and staff will be ordered separately regarding payment of arrears of allowance from July-2023 to October-2023.

Sister institutions like BMTC/ KSRTC regarding payment of arrears will be decided by respective institutions according to their financial situation. Details of Government Orders; The Karnataka government had issued an order on October 21 revising the rates of poverty allowance. By order of the Governor of Karnataka and in his name Joint Secretary to government, the Finance Department (Services-2) had issued an order in this regard.

The government has said that it is pleased to sanction the revised rates of dearness allowance from the present 35 per cent to 38.75 per cent of the basic pay with effect from 1st July 2023 to the state government employees drawing pay in the revised pay scales of 2018.

For the purpose of dearness allowance, ‘basic pay’ means the pay drawn by a Government servant in the scale of pay applicable to the post held and if he has been given a step-up in pay above the maximum of the scale, that step-up in pay.

Personal pay granted to him under sub-rule (3) of rule 7 read with rule 3(c) of the Karnataka Civil Service (Revised Pay) Rules, 2018. The order made it clear that any additional pay increments granted to him over and above the maximum of the pay scale, would include Bangalore.
