Meanwhile, by end of the results day, the Congress got 135 seats and the Bhartiya Janata Party only won at 66 seats out of 224 constituencies. Meanwhile, the Janata Dal(Secular) only managed to get 19 seats. The results have washed off the hung speculations and the state saw a decisive mandate after 2013.

The CLP meeting has started at a private hotel in Bengaluru and this Congress Legislative Meeting (CLP) will be held in the presence of High Command Observer Sushil Kumar Shinde. All the MLAs who have won this election including Congress leaders have come to the meeting and will express their opinion in the meeting.

Apart from this, after today’s meeting, the observers will give a report to the High Command after taking the decision of the meeting. If everything is as expected, the leader of the Congress Legislature will take oath as the CM of Karnataka on Thursday.

A day after Congress’s landslide victory in the Karnataka Assembly elections, the supporters of party leaders Siddaramaiah and DK Shivkumar have put up posters in the state demanding they be declared as the state CM.

Supporters of senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah put up a poster outside the Congress leader’s residence in Bengaluru, referring to him as “the next CM of Karnataka.” With Siddaramaiah and DK Shivkumar now former DCM G Parameshwara name come front to Chief Minister Name.

Karnataka’s former deputy chief minister and senior leader Dr G Parameshwara told media that he is “definitely” in the race to become the chief minister if high command says. Congress leader Priyank Kharge commented on the ongoing tussle for the chief ministerial post in Karnataka, stating that it is “going to be a tough choice” as the leaders have served in their own different capacities.

Congress leader Ramalinga Reddy on Sunday said that the party’s high command will consider the opinions of its MLAs before making a decision on who will be the next chief minister of Karnataka. He added that the chief will then take a decision by consulting the senior leaders of Congress,

Nirmalananda Natha Swamiji, a prominent Vokkaliga seer from Adi Chunchanagiri, appealed Congress leadership for the appointment of Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar as the next chief minister of the state.
