The final decision about the the HD Kumaraswamy contest in Mandya will also be made today. BJP state president Vijayendra has called a meeting with the leaders of this part in Mandya.
He brought to the notice of the local leaders that Mandya had given up the field to the JDS and asked them to work for the JDS candidate. Meanwhile, it is said that Sumalatha herself has not been invited to today’s BJP meeting. BJP got Sumalatha’s support in Mandya in the last Assembly elections. Sumalatha participated in campaign meetings. But now she seems to have been ousted by the BJP.
Sachidananda, a supporter of Sumalata in Bangalore, responded that this time the alliance candidate is sure to win in Mandya. Also said that Sumalatha decision will be final in next two days. According to Mandya Congress leaders, Sumalatha is supporting the Congress. Also, in 2019, many of the Congress leaders in Mandya had supported Sumalathar historic win in Lok Sabha Election. Now Sumalatha has got a hint to support Congress.
As for why Sumalatha supports the Congress party, Sumalatha is angry that the BJP has given up her political rival JDS in Mandya. There is also a fear that if she support JDS in coming Lok Sabha Election, it will affect future politics.
And as per report BJP has not given any promise to Sumalatha so far about MLC or Rajya Sabha ticket. This also seems to be the reason for Sumalatara’s anger. Now there is confidence that Congress will consider it if it is supported. In addition, the Congress support in 2019 is expected to be repaid now, according to the information of relatives.
As such, it is being heard that there is a possibility of supporting the Congress indirectly by taking a neutral stand in this election. Even the Congress has been behind the scenes for victory in Mandya. Former Minister KR Pete Narayana Gowda has been attacked by the Congress.

Karnataka BJP state election in-charge Radha Mohan Das Agarwal said that the seat sharing between the saffron party and Janata Das (Secular) has been finalised. Radha Mohan Das Agarwal said that BJP and JDS have decided to contest on 28 seats; BJP will contest with support of JDS in 25 seats and JDS with support of BJP in 3 seats.
During the Lok Sabha elections, polling for 28 seats in Karnataka will be held in the second (April 26) and third (May 7) phases.

In the second phase, voting will be held for 14 constituencies including Bangalore Central, Bangalore North, Bangalore Rural, Bangalore South, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Dakshina Kannada, Hassan, Kolar, Mandya, Mysore, Tumkur, Udupi Chikkamagaluru.
In the third phase, voting will be held for the remaining 14 seats including Chikkodi, Belgaum, Bagalkote, Bijapur, Gulbarga, Raichur, Bidar, Koppal, Bellary, Haveri, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Davangere, Shivamogga.
