Karnataka Election Results 2023: List of won and lost by smallest margin of vote

Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 was held on May 10 for 224 assembly constituencies of the state and the result was announced on May 13th. Congress won in 135 constituencies, BJP lost miserably by winning 66 constituencies and JDS has won in 19 constituencies. This time there is a fierce fight in the election and this election is a witness of tough competition in most of the constituencies. The result of the counting of votes on May 13 has shocked both the winning and losing candidates. Because in the last round of counting, those who won by a small margin of votes, those who stood on the edge lost.

Jayanagar is the constituency that attracted the attention of the state during the counting of votes. Soumya Reddy, who was elected as an MLA last time, saw a surprise defeat in yesterday’s result. As the first result came out, Soumya Reddy was declared the winner.

Later, rival BJP’s CK Ramamurthy appealed to the Election Commission for a recount. After the appeal, the vote was re-counted four times and the result was announced that CK Ramamurthy won against Soumya Reddy by a margin of only 16 votes. During this time, there was a scuffle between Congress and BJP workers. As the result was announced, Soumya Reddy went home in tears.

Re-counting drama also took place in Gandhinagar Assembly Constituency. Constituency sitting MLA Dinesh Gundurao won by a margin of just 105 votes against BJP candidate Saptagiri Gowda. But Saptagiri Gowda immediately approached the Election Commission and demanded a recount.

But the Election Commission rejected Saptagiri Gowda’s appeal and finally declared Dinesh Gundurao as the winner. Dinesh Gundurao has won by a margin of only 105 votes.

In Sringeri constituency of Chikkamagaluru district too, there was a heavy fight between TD Raje Gowda of Congress and GN Jeevaraj of BJP. There was a back and forth between the two in every round. In the end, Raje Gowda won by defeating DN Jeevaraj by a margin of only 201 votes.

A neck-to-neck fight was also held in Kumata constituency of Uttara Kannada district. BJP’s Dinkar Keshav Shetty has won by a margin of 676 votes in the fight between BJP candidate Dinkar Keshav Shetty and Suraj Naik of JDS.

Margin – 676 votes

Heavy fighting also took place in Mudigere constituency of Chikkamagaluru district. Nayana Motamma of Congress has defeated BJP candidate Deepak Dodaiah. He won by a margin of only 722 votes and entered the assembly for the first time.

A stubborn fight was also held in Chincholi constituency which is a high voltage place. BJP’s Avinash Jadhav has won by a margin of 858 votes against Congress candidate Subhash Rathore.

Margin – 858

There was fierce competition between Congress and BJP candidates in Jagaluru constituency as well. By a margin of only 874 votes Congress S.V. B. Devendrappa won against BJP’s Ramachandra.

Thus the heavy competition in many fields has finally made one the winner. As compared to the last election results, very few candidates have won with fewer margins of votes.
