Talking to reporters in the district, he said, I am getting old. Assembly elections will be held after the next four years. I will not contest the next assembly elections. He said that he is going to withdraw from electoral politics. CM Siddaramaiah himself has explained the reasons behind this decision.

They themselves know about their physical condition and health. I am not able to work as enthusiastically as I used to. I have no worries. There is only tension if there is anxiety. I don’t have anything like that. Therefore, I have decided to withdraw from electoral politics, he clarified.

Siddaramaiah had talked about retirement before:

Earlier, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had talked about announcing his retirement from politics. He had said that he would withdraw from the upcoming assembly election politics in April 2023. He was the opposition leader then.

Before that CM Siddaramaiah contested the election in Badami assembly constituency against B.Sreeramulu, this will be my last election. I will not stand for election again. He said that he will retire from electoral politics.
