“You may silence me, but cannot defeat me”: Raghav Chadha hits back at AAP after removal

New Delhi : In a sharp reaction to his removal from the post of deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, Raghav Chadha has hit out at the Aam Aadmi Party, asserting that attempts to silence him will not succeed.
Chadha, who was recently removed from his position in the Upper House, took to social media platform X to express his displeasure through a video message. Questioning the party’s decision, he said he had consistently raised issues concerning the public whenever he got an opportunity to speak in Parliament.
“Whenever I was allowed to speak in Parliament, I raised issues of the people. They may not always have been routine matters, but is it a crime to speak for the public? Have I committed any wrongdoing?” Chadha asked in his message, indirectly challenging the party leadership.
He further alleged that efforts were being made to restrict his participation in parliamentary proceedings. “It has been requested that I should not be given a chance to speak in Parliament. Why should that be the case? Whenever I get an opportunity, I speak for the people and raise important questions. What loss has this caused to the party?” he questioned.
The development comes amid reports of internal differences within the party. Sources indicate that Chadha’s removal could be linked to disagreements with senior leadership, including party chief Arvind Kejriwal, although no official confirmation has been provided.
Following his removal, the party has appointed Ashok Mittal to the position. The move has sparked discussions about internal dynamics within the AAP, especially as Chadha is considered one of the party’s prominent young faces.
Chadha’s strong remarks — “You can silence my voice, but you cannot defeat me” — signal a possible escalation of tensions within the party. Political observers believe that the episode could have wider implications for the party’s internal cohesion and its strategy in Parliament.
The AAP leadership, however, has remained largely silent on the controversy so far. With Chadha publicly raising questions over the decision, all eyes are now on how the party addresses the growing speculation around internal discord.
