The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain in various parts of the country including the capital Delhi.

Yellow alert has been declared in Delhi for the next four days. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder in the capital on Saturday, along with winds blowing at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour. During this time, a drop of 1 to 2 degrees Celsius can be recorded in the temperature.

It is estimated that on Saturday the minimum temperature in Delhi will be 27 degrees and the maximum temperature will be 35 degrees Celsius.

According to the weather department’s warnings, heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Central India, Northeast, East and West India in the coming days. Continuous heavy rains have been predicted in Madhya Pradesh from June 21 to 25.

At the same time, there may be rain and thunder in West Bengal and Sikkim on 21st and 22nd June. Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand may also receive heavy rains on Saturday. Heavy rains are expected in Bihar from 24 to 26 June, while rains may continue in eastern Madhya Pradesh on 22 and 23 June.

Heavy rains have been warned in Andaman and Nicobar Islands on June 21, while heavy rains have been predicted in Odisha between June 24 and 26.

Heavy rains in Goa, Maharashtra and Gujarat till June 26:

Talking about Western India, there may be heavy rainfall in many areas of Goa, Central Maharashtra and Gujarat between 21st and 26th June. Monsoon activities are also expected to remain strong in Northeast India for the next seven days, due to which light to moderate rain may occur at many places.

This may lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas. The rainy season will continue in the states of north-west India as well. Heavy rains are expected at various places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and western Uttar Pradesh between June 21 and 26.

Rajasthan and eastern Uttar Pradesh may receive rain from June 20 to 24. Heavy rainfall has been warned in eastern Rajasthan on June 21 and 23, South Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on June 22. Heavy rains are expected in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on 21, 22, 25 and 26 June.

Rain alert in Karnataka, Telangana and Tamil Nadu:

Talking about South India, there is a possibility of heavy rains in various parts of Kerala during June 22 to 26. Karnataka may also receive heavy rainfall from June 21 to 26. Strong winds with speeds of 40 to 60 kmph are likely over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during June 21 to 24. Hot and humid conditions are likely to persist over Tamil Nadu on June 21 and 22.

Advice to people to be cautious:

In view of these warnings from the Meteorological Department, people have been advised to remain alert. Necessary precautions need to be taken to avoid incidents like waterlogging in low-lying areas, lightning and falling trees. The administration has also issued an alert regarding preparations.
