Massive Drug Bust Seizes ₹262 Crore Worth of Methamphetamine, Two Arrested
New Delhi: In a major operation conducted by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Delhi Police, authorities have seized 328 kilograms of methamphetamine tablets, with a street value of ₹262 crore. The operation, described as one of the largest in recent times, has led to the arrest of two individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.
The joint operation, which was executed with precision, has been hailed as a significant step in the government’s ongoing fight against drug trafficking and substance abuse. According to officials, the seized methamphetamine, a powerful stimulant, was intended for international distribution. The haul is one of the largest of its kind, highlighting the scale of the narcotics trade operating through the country.
Central Home Minister Amit Shah took to social media to commend the efforts of the NCB and Delhi Police. In a post on ‘X’, he expressed his satisfaction with the operation, stating, “Our government is relentlessly breaking drug syndicates, and this joint operation by the NCB and Delhi Police is a prime example of that effort. A total of ₹262 crore worth of methamphetamine has been seized, and two individuals have been arrested. Investigations are ongoing.”
Shah also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a “Drug-Free India,” describing the operation as an excellent example of multi-agency coordination in achieving this goal. “The success of this operation is a remarkable demonstration of teamwork and the government’s unwavering commitment to dismantling drug networks,” Shah wrote in his post.
The authorities have confirmed that further investigations are underway to trace the source of the drug shipment and identify other individuals involved in the international trafficking network. The operation has drawn attention to the growing challenge of controlling the illegal drug trade in India, with the government vowing to intensify its efforts to curb narcotics trafficking and its harmful impact on society.
