IMD Issued heavy rainfall alert: India Meteorological Department issued heavy rainfall alert in Western Himalayas and coastal region in next h8 hours. Between February 26 and March 1, heavy rain and snowfall are expected at some places in the Western Himalayas. Also, some parts of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh may experience light to moderate rain between February 26 and March 1.

According to the India Meteorological Department, from February 25, rainfall and snowfall activities are expected to increase significantly in the Western Himalayan region, which may continue till March 2 or 3. According to the IMD, heavy rainfall has been issued in the areas surrounding Delhi in the next 24 hours.

A Western Disturbance is expected to become active on February 26. A heavy rainfall warning has been issued for Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh till 28th and Himachal Pradesh from 26th to 28th. The Regional Meteorological Center (RMC) has issued a yellow alert for 10 districts on February 28 and March 1, forecasting moderate to heavy rainfall.

According to the data from Jaipur Meteorological Centre, a new westerly depression will become active. Due to this effect, thundershowers are likely to occur over parts of Bikaner division, Jaipur and Shekhawati region of Bharatpur division from February 27 to March 1 in Rajasthan.

According to Patna-based IMD scientist Kumar Gaurav, Bihar is likely to receive light rain on February 28 and March 01. But this too is limited to showers only. By then, day and night temperatures are expected to rise by two to four degrees Celsius.
