IMD Issued heavy rain alert in India till June 29: Issued red alert
IMD Issued heavy rain: India is well into its monsoon season, and several regions are experiencing or are expected to experience significant rainfall. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert for “extremely heavy rains” in isolated places over West Madhya Pradesh today (June 23rd) and tomorrow (June 24th) and Karnataka till June 29.

Here’s a breakdown of the current rainfall alerts:
Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan: IMD has issued a Red Alert for “extremely heavy rains” in isolated places over West Madhya Pradesh today (June 23rd) and tomorrow (June 24th). East Rajasthan is also under a Red Alert for “extremely heavy rainfall” today.
Delhi-NCR: A Yellow Alert is in effect for Delhi-NCR for June 23rd, with forecasts of “generally cloudy sky, light to moderate rain/thunderstorm/lightning with gusty winds.” Moderate to heavy rain or thunderstorms are likely, with gusty winds up to 50 kmph. The southwest monsoon is expected to reach Delhi and surrounding regions within the next two days.
Northeast India: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to continue over Northeast India for the next 3 days.
Coastal Karnataka: Heavy Rain, Thunderstorm & Lightning, Squall etc. are expected from June 23rd to June 29th.
North Interior Karnataka: Thunderstorm & Lightning, Squall etc. on June 23rd and 24th, with Very Heavy Rain expected from June 25th to June 29th.
South Interior Karnataka: Thunderstorm & Lightning, Squall etc. on June 23rd and 24th, with Heavy Rain expected from June 25th to June 29th.

Gujarat and Konkan & Goa: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely from June 21st to 26th, with isolated extremely heavy rainfall over Gujarat Region on June 23rd.
Mumbai is currently experiencing its monsoon season with consistent rainfall, and heavy showers are forecast for the coming days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar from June 23 to June 26, warning of heavy rainfall in isolated parts of the region.
Mumbai has been receiving intermittent showers since early morning, with some areas seeing intense rain. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also issued a high tide warning. A high tide of 4.37 meters is expected around 10:23 AM today, and 3.80 meters at 9:59 PM. These high tides, especially when coinciding with heavy rainfall, increase the risk of waterlogging in coastal and low-lying areas.
Rainfall So Far: Mumbai has already received approximately 80% of its average June rainfall, with a week still remaining in the month. As of June 22, Colaba received 478 mm and Santacruz recorded 425 mm.
Mumbai weather Forecast for the Week (June 23 – June 28):
June 23 & 24: Generally cloudy sky with heavy rainfall. Temperatures will remain warm and humid, with minimums around 26°C and maximums touching 31°C and 32°C.
June 25: Intensity of rain may ease slightly, bringing moderate rainfall under a still-cloudy sky. Temperatures are likely to hover between 25°C and 32°C.
June 26: Rainfall will pick up again with another round of heavy showers forecast, and temperatures ranging between 24°C and 31°C.
June 27 & 28: Rain will continue, accompanied by slightly cooler daytime highs of 29°C and 30°C. Minimum temperatures are expected to stay between 23°C and 24°C.
