Horrific murder in Yamunanagar: Man beheads live-in partner, dumps body parts at multiple locations

Haryana:A gruesome murder case has shocked Haryana’s Yamunanagar district, where a man allegedly beheaded his live-in partner, a married Hindu woman, and disposed of her body parts at different locations in an attempt to erase evidence.

The accused has been identified as Bilal (27), a taxi driver originally from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Police have arrested him after a detailed investigation.

According to investigators, Bilal had been living in a rented house in Gangotri Colony, Yamunanagar, with the victim Uma (30) for nearly two years in a live-in relationship. Uma was already married and was the mother of an eight-year-old boy. She had reportedly been living away from her family while staying with Bilal.

Police said tensions escalated after Bilal’s marriage was fixed with another woman, with the wedding scheduled for December 14. Fearing complications and pressure from Uma, Bilal allegedly planned her murder. On December 6, he took Uma out on a drive in his car under the pretext of spending time together.

During the journey, Bilal crossed into Haryana via the Hathnikund Barrage bridge connecting Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. He then stopped the car in a forested area near the border of Bahadurpur village in Pratap Nagar.

While Uma was seated in the front seat, Bilal allegedly moved to the back seat and suddenly strangled her using a seat belt. Despite her attempts to resist and save herself, she lost consciousness and died.

Investigators said that after killing her, Bilal dragged Uma’s body near a poplar nursery, where he brutally beheaded her using a meat-cutting knife. To conceal her identity, he removed her clothes and packed her severed head and belongings into a bag. The torso was left behind at one location, while the head and clothes were later dumped into a gorge at Laldhang in the Kalesar forest area near the Haryana–Himachal Pradesh border.

After committing the crime, Bilal reportedly returned home using an alternative route. He deleted Uma’s contact number and all related data from his mobile phone and resumed preparations for his upcoming wedding, attempting to behave as if nothing had happened.

The case came to light on December 7 when police recovered a headless body in Yamunanagar. CCTV footage from nearby areas helped trace Bilal’s car, leading investigators to him. He was arrested on December 13, a day before his scheduled wedding. During interrogation, Bilal allegedly confessed to the crime.

The brutal killing has triggered widespread outrage and raised serious concerns over safety, trust, and the darker side of live-in relationships. Police have registered a case of murder and destruction of evidence, and further investigation is underway to establish the full sequence of events.
