Diwali and Chhath Puja: India Railway run 52 special trains, Schedule out
Diwali and Chhath Puja: The festive season has begun, bringing a buzz of activity everywhere. People travelling home from far-off countries for Diwali and Chhath festivals are flooding everywhere, resulting in an increase in passengers everywhere.
Buses and trains are overcrowded. Keeping in mind the increased crowd, the North Central Railway of Agra division has made extensive arrangements. Now, Indian Railways has taken a major decision regarding passengers. Extensive preparations have been made at important stations across the division, including junctions, for the safety and convenience of passengers.
The Railways has announced the running of 52 special trains. These special trains will be run to cities like Bihar, Kolkata, Howrah, Lucknow, Udaipur, Delhi, Jaipur and Bhopal.
The passenger count has increased significantly during the festive season and to meet these needs, the Railways has expanded the service area of some trains. The railways has also expanded the service area of four trains. The New Delhi-Agra Cantt-New Delhi Intercity Express has been extended to Gwalior from October 16 to 30.
Besides, the Etawah-Agra Cantt Memo and Agra Cantt-Jhansi Memo have been extended to Mathura. Additional arrangements have also been made for the operation of special trains, if required. On an average, 50,000 to 60,000 passengers arrive at the junction railway station.
Diwali and Chhath Puja are typical occasions when the number of passengers at the railway stations increases significantly. A temporary holding area of 540 sq ft has been created to cater to the passenger traffic.
Passengers can book their trains here comfortably. A passenger help desk has been set up to provide 24-hour train information. Additional police and commercial personnel have also been deployed to ensure security and avoid inconvenience to passengers.
Special service between Delhi and Jhansi:
Operation of unreserved festive special express train between Delhi and Jhansi has also been started. Module has been provided for this. Train No. 044112/04411 Memo service has also been introduced between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Veerangan Laxmibai Jhansi Junction.
