In the last 24 hours, 656 people have been diagnosed with covid-19 infection. The number of infected people from this source has increased to 3,742. The active case has increased to 4054. So far 44471860 people have been cured and discharged from covid-19.

India’s Covid-19 cases cross 4,000 mark. Maharashtra has reported 9 cases of JN.1, one person has died in Kerala. Amid the ongoing Covid scare with the emergence of a new variant JN.1, the Union Health Ministry on Monday said India has crossed the 4,000 infected mark.

But one death was reported in Kerala. 4,054 active Covid-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours compared to 3,742 on Sunday. Meanwhile, Maharashtra recorded a total of nine cases of the JN.1 mutation on Sunday. Among the JN.1 infected persons in Maharashtra are five from Thane city, two from Pune city and one each from rural areas of Pune district, Akola city and Sindhudurga district.

Kerala recorded the highest number of active cases with one death in a single day, taking the nationwide death toll to 5,33,334. Notably, the central government has said that the current rise in Covid-19 cases is not cause for concern. However, the Center has advised those with comorbidities to wear face masks as a precautionary measure.
