7th pay commission: 5 days work in week for government employees

The Karnataka Government Ministry Employees Association has put forward the 7th Pay Commission of the state to consider many important demands including that the 5 working days in a week should be implemented on the model of central government offices.

The Karnataka Ministry Employees Association, which met the members of the 7th Pay Commission of the state, has requested to implement the five days work in a week like the central government employees. Also, instead of the new pension scheme, the old pension scheme has been requested to be implemented.

A delegation led by the president of the employees’ union Ramesh Sanga met commission members PB Ramamurthy, Srikanth Honnalli and secretary Hepsaba Rani Korlapati on Saturday and submitted the list of claims. The minimum basic pay should be fixed from Rs 17,000 to Rs 35,000.

Bereavement allowance should be merged with basic pay and 40% fitment should be given to the basic pay to be revised. Mainly, the association demanded that the government should be recommended to implement the wage revision retrospectively from July 2022. Annual salary increment rate should be fixed at least 5%.

Separate pay scales should be fixed for all cadres of ministry service. At least 50% of the ministry officers and employees should be assigned in the close branch of the CM and Minister. Sessional allowance should be increased from Rs 500 to Rs 1000 per day. The delegation of the association demanded that the house attendant allowance should be fixed at least 11,000 per month for officers above Deputy Secretary.

The government has issued an order to increase the salary to Bangalore National Health Abhiyan (NHM) for sub-contracted employees by 15% as applicable from April 1 2023. Under NHM 3-5 years of service 5 percent, 5-10 years of service 10 per cent and For those who have been serve for more than 10 years service they will get 15% salary increase.
