PM Modi’s Udupi visit: SPG inspects venue ahead of Laksha Kantha Gita Parayana; massive security, roadshow planned

PM Modi’s Udupi visit: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Udupi on November 28 to participate in the Laksha Kantha Gita Parayana at Sri Krishna Matha, a Special Protection Group (SPG) team conducted an extensive inspection of the programme venue, stage construction area and surrounding localities on Wednesday.

Along with the SPG team, the Anti-Sabotage Check (ASC) squad also reviewed multiple layers of security arrangements. The SPG and ASC teams inspected the Adi Udupi helipad, the Karavali bypass, the city bus stand, Kalsanka Junction and finally the Sri Krishna Math premises where the mega event is set to take place.

Security agencies instructed local police to tighten security measures across the route and inside the temple area. Officials have been directed to install additional CCTV cameras, remove unauthorised banners and buntings, and clear potentially dangerous trees, branches and obstructions along the programme routes.

Authorities have also issued strict guidelines for the public. Visitors attending the event will not be allowed to carry bags, water bottles, flags or any other items. Police said advance communication will be given to ensure people adhere to the restrictions.

PM Modi’s roadshow confirmed:

According to Udupi district BJP president Kuthyaru Naveen Shetty, Prime Minister Modi’s roadshow in Udupi has been almost finalised. It will begin at 11:40 AM from the Sri Narayana Guru Circle near Dr. V.S. Acharya Bus Stand in Bannanje. The procession will move via the City Bus Stand towards Kalsanka Junction.

From there, the PM will proceed directly through the designated parking area and Ratha Beedi, reaching Sri Krishna Matha at 12:00 PM, where he will have darshan and participate in the Laksha Kantha Gita Parayana programme.

At 1:35 PM, Modi will depart from the venue, reach the Adi Udupi helipad by 1:40 PM, and fly to Mangaluru in an MI-17 helicopter. At 2:15 PM, he will depart Mangaluru Airport for Goa.

Grand preparations underway:

Udupi district BJP leaders are preparing to give the Prime Minister a grand welcome. Along the roadshow route, coastal cultural performances including Yakshagana, tiger dance and Krishna vesha displays will be showcased. Barricades are being installed along the entire stretch, and over 30,000 people are expected to gather to greet the Prime Minister.

Citizens have been requested to take their positions along the Bannanje–Kalsanka route by 10:30 AM on November 28.
