A significant portion of his address was a direct response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Congress functionary Muniyal Uday Kumar Shetty.

In his speech, V. Sunil Kumar did not hold back. He launched a scathing attack on Uday Kumar Shetty, accusing that he tried to disrupt the development of Karkala for personal and political gain.

The rally took place on Wednesday, August 6, 2026, as planned by the BJP. The primary objective was to demand that the state government, led by the Congress party, resume work on the Parashurama Theme Park. The BJP accused the government of stalling the project for political reasons and failing to release the necessary funds for its completion.

The rally began at Karkala Ananthashayana and culminated at the Udupi DC’s office. After rally, MLA V. Sunil Kumar delivered a fiery speech, directly addressing the controversy and attacking the Congress government and Muniyalu Uday kumar Shetty.
