Karnataka Weather Forecast Shows Weak Monsoon With Rain In Several Districts
Karnataka weather forecast indicates a weak southwest monsoon, with coastal and selected interior districts likely to receive light to moderate rain on September 8 and 9 during these days overall.
The southwest monsoon has weakened across Karnataka, leaving several parts of the state with mostly dry weather. According to the India Meteorological Department, rainfall activity is expected to remain limited, although a few districts could receive light to moderate showers over the next two days.
The coastal belt is likely to see some improvement in rainfall activity. On September 8, isolated areas of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada may receive light to moderate rain. Similar conditions are expected to continue in parts of these three districts on September 9.
The forecast does not indicate widespread rainfall across the state. Instead, showers are expected to remain scattered, with many districts continuing to experience dry conditions.
In North Interior Karnataka, some areas may also receive rain. On September 8, isolated locations in Belagavi, Dharwad, Raichur and Yadgir districts could receive light to moderate showers. The weather pattern may change slightly on September 9, when isolated rainfall is forecast for Dharwad, Haveri and Belagavi.
South Interior Karnataka is also expected to see only limited rainfall. On September 8, isolated parts of Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Ramanagara may receive moderate showers. On September 9, rainfall is possible in parts of Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu and Mysuru districts.
The overall weather situation remains influenced by the weak monsoon activity. Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka have recorded some rainfall in isolated locations, while most parts of South Interior Karnataka have remained comparatively dry.
For residents in districts outside the rainfall forecast areas, the next couple of days are likely to remain largely dry. The limited nature of the forecast means that farmers and residents should not expect a broad spell of rain across Karnataka at present.
The weather department has indicated that rainfall may occur mainly in isolated pockets rather than across entire districts. This means conditions could vary significantly even between nearby areas, with one location receiving a shower while another remains dry.
The coastal districts continue to have a better chance of receiving rain compared with several interior regions. However, even along the coast, the forecast points to scattered rainfall rather than a widespread spell.
In the interior districts, the expected showers could provide some temporary relief from dry conditions, but the current forecast does not suggest a major strengthening of the monsoon immediately.
Karnataka has therefore entered another phase of relatively weak monsoon activity. While a few districts are likely to receive light to moderate rain on September 8 and 9, much of the state may continue under dry weather.
