Heavy Rain Alert Issued for Eight Karnataka Districts
Several districts across Karnataka are likely to receive heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds, prompting weather authorities to issue a yellow alert and advise caution.

Rain-bearing clouds are expected to remain active across Karnataka over the next few days, with the India Meteorological Department warning of intense weather conditions in several regions. Heavy showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds are likely to affect parts of the state, particularly in interior districts.
A yellow alert has been issued for eight districts where weather activity is expected to be more severe. Gadag, Dharwad, Haveri and Koppal in north interior Karnataka could witness heavy rain accompanied by wind speeds reaching 40 to 50 kmph. Similar conditions are forecast for Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan and Chamarajanagar in the southern region.
While these districts remain under close watch, coastal Karnataka is also expected to receive steady rainfall. Areas across Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada are likely to experience moderate showers along with strong winds, creating cooler weather conditions along the coast.
Bengaluru and several neighboring districts are also expected to see rainfall activity. Thunderstorms accompanied by evening or nighttime showers may occur in Bengaluru city, while districts such as Chikkaballapur, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Shivamogga, Tumakuru and Ramanagara could receive moderate rainfall.
Weather officials have advised residents to remain cautious during periods of heavy rain and strong winds. People have been urged to avoid sheltering under old trees or weak structures during storms. Farmers have also been encouraged to take necessary measures to protect standing crops and livestock from possible weather-related damage.
With monsoon conditions gradually strengthening, rainfall is expected to become more widespread across Karnataka, bringing relief from recent warm weather while also increasing the risk of localized disruptions.
