Kantara Chapter 1 bookings start from September 26: All eyes on ticket prices

Kantara Chapter 1: The ticket bookings for ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ are scheduled to open on Friday, September 26, 2025, with the film’s official release set for October 2, 2025. Advance bookings are expected to open in India on September 26, 2025, at 12:29 PM IST, as per reports.

All eyes are on the final ticket prices, particularly in Karnataka, due to a recent legal development. The Karnataka High Court has granted an interim stay against the state government’s order that had capped movie ticket prices at Rs 200 (excluding taxes) across all theatres, including multiplexes.

This interim stay is a relief for the producers (Hombale Films) and the Multiplex Association of India, who had challenged the price cap, arguing it would hurt revenue, especially for major releases. With the stay in place, cinemas are currently free to price the tickets based on market demand, meaning ticket prices for Kantara: Chapter 1 may cost more than Rs 200 in the state.

Advance ticket sales have already commenced in the USA, with the film showing a strong start even before its domestic pre-booking. Grand paid premieres are reportedly planned for the evening of October 1, 2025, a day before the worldwide release, across multiple languages and over 2,500 screens globally.

The official trailers for Kantara: Chapter 1, which was released on September 22, 2025, across the primary language channels of Hombale Films, have accumulated a combined view count of over 77.9 million views (as of September 25, 2025).
