Controversy erupts after BJP leader’s remarks on Vijay’s personal life

Chennai: Fresh controversy has erupted in Tamil Nadu after remarks made by former BJP functionary Tiruchi Suriya about actor and political leader Vijay went viral on social media.

The comments were made during an interview with a YouTube channel and have triggered intense debate in both political and film circles in the state.

Vijay, who recently entered active politics through his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, has been in the spotlight for his political ambitions. However, the latest controversy surrounding his personal life has now become a major talking point.

In the interview, Tiruchi Suriya made allegations related to Vijay’s family life and his reported differences with his wife Sangeetha Vijay. According to him, Sangeetha has reportedly approached the court seeking divorce from the actor, a development that has sparked widespread speculation in the media.

Suriya also claimed that he had personally witnessed certain incidents during visits to Chennai for political meetings. He alleged that he had seen Vijay along with actress Trisha Krishnan at a hotel and suggested that the matter could become a legal issue if a defamation case is filed against him.

He added that he was prepared to present evidence in court to support his claims. During the interview, Suriya raised several questions regarding allegations that had circulated on social media in the past.

He asked why Vijay had not filed defamation cases against individuals who had previously made accusations against him online. Suriya further alleged that tensions between Vijay and his wife had begun in 2022 and claimed that disputes in their relationship escalated after she reportedly asked the actor to distance himself from certain individuals.

According to him, the matter has now reached the stage where legal notices have reportedly been issued through the court. The remarks have triggered strong reactions among supporters of Vijay as well as members of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.

While some dismissed the allegations as politically motivated, others demanded clarification from those involved. So far, Vijay or his representatives have not issued an official statement responding to the allegations, but the controversy continues to generate significant attention across social media platforms and in the Tamil Nadu political landscape.
