Actress Krishi Tapanda receives police notice in threat case against businessman
Bengaluru: Actress Krishi Tapanda, who has been in the headlines for the last few months due to her ongoing dispute with businessman Aravind Reddy, has landed in fresh trouble.
The Sanjay Nagar police have issued a notice to the actress in connection with an alleged threat letter sent to the entrepreneur demanding Rs 7 crore. Earlier, Krishi Tapanda had filed a complaint against ARV Group owner Aravind Reddy accusing him of mental harassment and intimidation.
A case was registered based on her allegations. However, the businessman strongly denied the claims and countered that he had spent crores of rupees on the actress and that she had used him for financial gain. The public war of words between the two had drawn considerable media attention.
The latest development comes after Aravind Reddy lodged a complaint with the police stating that he had received an anonymous letter threatening him. In the letter, the sender demanded Rs 7 crore and warned of serious consequences if the demand was not met.
The letter also mentioned that the ongoing case involving a woman should be settled immediately. Taking the complaint seriously, Sanjay Nagar police launched an investigation and traced the origin of the letter.
The envelope was found to have been couriered from Banashankari. During the probe, police identified a mechanic who had sent the letter through a courier service. The mechanic reportedly told police that he had acted on the instructions of a person named Vaishakh.
Further investigation revealed that Vaishakh is a close associate of actress Krishi Tapanda. Police have now arrested Vaishakh in connection with the case. Sources said that he was taken into custody from near the actress’s residence.
It is also suspected that Vaishakh had hidden his mobile phone inside Krishi Tapanda’s house to avoid detection, raising further suspicion about her possible involvement.
Based on these developments, the police have issued a formal notice to Krishi Tapanda asking her to appear for questioning. Officials said they want to record her statement and verify certain facts related to the case.
The case has now taken a dramatic turn as the same actress who earlier accused the businessman of harassment is now being questioned in an alleged blackmail and threat attempt against him. Investigators are trying to find out whether the threat letter was sent independently by Vaishakh or whether there was any direct or indirect role of the actress behind it.
Police officials said more details will emerge after questioning both Krishi Tapanda and the arrested accused. The investigation is still underway, and authorities have assured that strict legal action will be taken based on evidence.
The ongoing feud between the actress and the businessman has turned into a complicated legal battle, with accusations and counter-accusations continuing from both sides.
