Heavy Rain: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heavy to very heavy rainfall across various districts in Karnataka on July 4. Heavy Rain: declared school holiday on June 4.
Holidays have been declared for schools and anganwadis in the taluks of Yellapur, Sirsi, Siddapur, and Joida in Uttara Kannada district. This decision was made by the District Commissioner due to continuous heavy rain and the release of water from the Kadra reservoir, leading to waterlogged roads and overflowing streams.

Karnataka heavy rainfall alert in these districts:
Coastal districts: Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, and Udupi are likely to experience very heavy rain.
North Interior Karnataka: Belagavi is forecast to receive heavy rain. Dharwad may also see significant rainfall.
South Interior Karnataka: Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Shivamogga, and Kodagu are on alert for very heavy rainfall.
While specific holiday announcements are made by district authorities, it is highly probable that other districts experiencing heavy rainfall as per the IMD forecast may also declare school holidays for safety reasons.
Parents and residents are advised to stay updated with official announcements from their respective district administrations and school authorities for the most accurate and timely information on school closures.
