A turning point in the sexual assault case against former wrestling federation president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The father of the 17-year-old wrestler, who filed a complaint against Brij Bhushan, was arrested.

He says that he filed such a complaint ‘out of anger’. “The wrestling federation made a serious allegation of sexual assault out of anger at discrimination against my daughter. Brij Bhushan has never been rude to my daughter.

Under Section 164, we had corrected the statement before the Magistrate. I was alone in this struggle. Even the association of wrestlers didn’t help at first. The family was in great shock after the news. We explained to the Supreme Court on June 5 that there was no sexual assault on the part of Brij Bhushan.

Allegations of discrimination have not been withdrawn by the Wrestling Federation. There is no fear, pressure or malice behind changing the statement. We have not withdrawn the case, we have only changed the statement” the wrestler’s father clarified to the national media.

In the complaint, the 17-year-old star had mentioned the ordeal in 2022. In the FIR, it is said that he pressed her body on the pretense of taking a picture, pressed her shoulder and touched her badly, and despite telling her not to disturb, she did not cooperate.

This statement was first recorded before the Magistrate. Retraction of this statement may weaken the sexual assault cases against Brij Bhushan. Following the assurance that the investigation against Brij Bhushan will be completed by the 15th of this month, the wrestlers temporarily stopped their strike.
