Three killed as tipper truck rams car near Gundlupet

Chamarajanagar: In a tragic road accident, three members of a family lost their lives after a speeding tipper truck collided with their car near Malleyanapura Gate in Gundlupet taluk of Chamarajanagar on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Ayesha Noori (41), her daughter Nuha (18), and Mohammed Azeer. A nine-year-old boy, Nahiyan, sustained serious injuries and has been shifted to a hospital in Mysuru for treatment.
According to police, the victims were natives of Kerala and were travelling towards Bengaluru in a car when the accident occurred. Mohammed Azeer was reportedly driving the vehicle, accompanying his sister and her children on the journey.
The mishap took place when a tipper truck, transporting M-sand from Gundlupet towards Kerala, rammed into the car. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the car completely mangled. Ayesha Noori and her daughter Nuha died on the spot due to the force of the crash, while Mohammed Azeer succumbed to injuries later at a hospital in Mysuru.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident may have been caused by the negligence and overspeeding of the tipper driver. The truck, bearing a Kerala registration number, was reportedly moving at high speed when it hit the car.
Local residents rushed to the spot after hearing the loud crash and alerted the police. Emergency services arrived shortly after and shifted the injured to the hospital. However, two victims had already died at the scene.
The Gundlupet Police have registered a case and taken both the damaged car and the tipper truck into custody for further investigation. Efforts are underway to trace and question the driver of the truck.
