Skeleton found burnt in plantation: police suspect murder in Chikkamagaluru

Chikkamagaluru : In a disturbing development, a burnt skeleton believed to be of a missing worker has been recovered from a rubber plantation in Aralikoppa village of N.R. Pura taluk in Chikkamagaluru district.
The skeletal remains were discovered in a plantation owned by a local resident, sending shockwaves through the rural community. The body was completely burnt, leaving only bones behind, pointing to a possible محاولة to destroy evidence.
Authorities suspect the deceased to be Bibin, a native of Kerala, who had been working in the estate and was reported missing recently. His relatives had already approached police with concerns about his disappearance.A key clue emerged when a jacket, believed to belong to Bibin, was found near the remains. This has strengthened suspicions that the victim may have been murdered and his body burnt to conceal identity.
Police teams, led by Superintendent Jitendra Kumar Dayama, inspected the site and began a detailed probe. Forensic experts have also been called in to analyse the remains and collect scientific evidence.Officials said the condition of the body suggests that it was intentionally set on fire. The possibility of homicide is being actively investigated, with multiple angles under consideration.
The Karnataka Police have registered a case and are working to identify suspects. Efforts are underway to confirm the identity of the deceased through forensic examination.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of migrant workers in plantation belts. Locals have urged authorities to ensure better surveillance and swift justice. Police assured that the investigation is progressing and that those behind the crime will be brought to book soon.
