Nashik Man poisons wife and children after posting ‘Shraddhanjali’ WhatsApp status, later ends life
Nashik: A shocking incident has come to light from Phule Malwadi in Deola taluk of Nashik district Maharastra, where a man allegedly poisoned his wife and two children before ending his own life. The tragic event surfaced on Sunday morning, leaving the local community in deep shock.
The deceased have been identified as Govind Balu Shewale (40), his wife Komal Govind Shewale (35), and their children Khushi (8) and Shyam (1.5). According to police, Govind was found hanging inside the house, while the bodies of his wife and children were discovered lying on the bed.
Preliminary investigation suggests that Govind mixed poison into the family’s dinner on Saturday night, leading to the deaths of Komal and the children in their sleep.
The incident came to light after Govind reportedly posted a WhatsApp status reading “Shraddhanjali” early on Sunday morning. The unusual message alarmed his younger brother, who immediately informed other relatives.
When the relatives reached the Shewale residence, they found all four family members dead. The discovery triggered panic in the neighbourhood and prompted immediate police action.
Deola Police rushed to the spot, conducted a spot inspection and registered a case of unnatural death. The Nashik divisional forensic team was also called in for detailed examination of the scene. The bodies have been sent to a rural hospital for post-mortem.
Police Inspector Sarthak Nehete stated that while the preliminary suspicion points to poisoning, the exact motive behind Govind’s extreme step is still unclear. “We are investigating all angles to determine what led the family to this tragic end,” he said.
The horrific deaths of four members of the same family have created a pall of gloom in the locality, with residents still struggling to process the shocking turn of events.
