Mysuru : In a chilling case of domestic discord turning criminal, Nanjangud police have arrested a woman and three others for allegedly plotting to murder her husband. The accused, including the woman’s brother, a friend, and a minor, attempted to stage a robbery to disguise the attack, but the plan failed.
The woman, identified as Sangeetha, a computer operator, allegedly conspired with her brother Sanjay, his friend Vighnesh, and a minor boy to eliminate her husband Rajendra, a fiber door technician. The couple had been facing marital issues, which reportedly led Sangeetha to plan the attack.
On October 25, Rajendra was riding a scooter with Sangeetha when a white car blocked their path near Muda Layout in Hunduvinahalli. A man from the car pushed the scooter, causing both to fall. While Rajendra was being confronted, two others approached Sangeetha and attempted to snatch her chain. One of the attackers then stabbed Rajendra with a dagger.
The sudden arrival of another vehicle forced the attackers to flee. Rajendra, seriously injured, was rushed to a private hospital in Mysuru and later provided details to the police.
Under the guidance of SP Vishnuvardhan, Additional SP Malik, and DySP Raghu, police used CCTV footage and forensic evidence to uncover the murder plot. Sangeetha had allegedly rented the car and coordinated the attack with her accomplices, pretending to be a victim herself.
All four accused, including the minor, have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody. Police confirmed that the motive stemmed from ongoing marital disputes and that Sangeetha had orchestrated the entire plan. The case has shocked the local community and highlighted the extreme consequences of unresolved domestic conflict.
