Karkala Honey Trap Case: In a recent unfortunate incident, a 25-year-old youth named Abhishek committed suicide at Suraj Comforts Lodge in Belman in Udupi district. Abhishek, a resident of Nitte village, was working as a technician on contract basis at private hospital.

There is a suspicion that there is a honey trap behind this suicide. Abhishek had shared some voice messages, text messages, a suicide note and a video in the hospital WhatsApp group before his death.

The police have investigated based on the information given by the members of this WhatsApp group. Shocking things have been revealed in the suicide note written by Abhishek. In it, a young woman and her friends were making videos of her private time and blackmailing her to extort money, and it is said that he committed suicide because he could not bear the pressure.

Now, the police have registered an FIR against four accused under the abetment to suicide section. Three of the four accused have already been identified, and their mobile phones have been seized and sent for technical examination. The phone of the deceased Abhishek has also been seized, and the photos, videos and messages in it have been recorded as evidence. The phone has been sent to the forensic science laboratory for further scientific evidence.

The investigation into the case is being led by Karkala Assistant Superintendent of Police Harsha Priyamada, who met Abhishek’s parents and gathered more information. Several people mentioned in the suicide note, those who worked with the deceased, and friends of the accused girl are being questioned.

Realizing the seriousness of the case, the Vishwakarma Union, political leaders and other organizations have filed a petition demanding a comprehensive investigation. They have expressed concern that this is not just a case of one person, but rather it may be a network.

The Udupi Superintendent of Police has informed the media about this. Although it initially appears to be a case of failed love, he said that a thorough investigation is needed into the matters contained in the suicide note.

The focus is on collecting technical evidence and finding out the truth behind the suicide. No conclusion will be reached right now, he assured that legal action will be taken against whoever instigated the suicide. He said that the investigation will be conducted transparently.
