Human Skull and Bone Fragments Found in Udupi

Udupi: A human skull and skeletal remains were discovered in bushes near a private apartment complex at Ananth Nagar 3rd Cross in Udupi, creating curiosity and concern among local residents.

The remains were found in an empty plot adjacent to the apartment complex when workers were clearing grass and overgrown bushes. During the cleaning process, the workers noticed a skull and several human bones lying in the area.

Local residents immediately informed the Manipal Police at around 4:00 pm. After reaching the spot and conducting a detailed inspection, police recovered several skeletal remains, including a part of a skull without the jaw, a separated lower jawbone, six ribs, two arm bones, a thigh bone (femur), parts of cervical vertebrae, and other small bone fragments.

Police suspect that the remains could be around one year old. The Manipal Police have collected the skeletal remains and sent them to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for further examination.

The discovery has raised several questions and suspicions. Investigators are examining whether the bones were deliberately dumped at the location to create fear among residents or whether they were discarded while attempting to conceal evidence after a possible crime.

The Manipal Police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation. Authorities are currently awaiting the forensic report, which is expected to provide more details regarding the identity and circumstances surrounding the remains.
