Ernakulam: The Perumbavoor Magistrate’s Court of Ernakulam district has ordered that all the accused in the Kerala human sacrifice case, which has made headlines across the country, be sent to police custody for nine more days. Three accused Muhammad Shafi, Bhagwal Singh and Laila have been sent to police custody in connection with this case.

Officials said that the police requested the court to keep the accused in police custody for ten days, but the court allowed only nine days. Earlier, the three accused had moved the Kerala High Court challenging the order of the Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, which sent them to 12-day police custody. Requested cancellation of this order.

He also sought permission to meet his lawyer during his trial and requested that details of his confession not be released through the media. The Kerala High Court dismissed the plea but without allowing him to meet his lawyer.

The people of Kerala were scared by this incident, hence the court dismissed the petition. Ordered for 22 days police custody as a warning order. The lower court mentioned the points mentioned in the order in the petition. He sought cancellation of the order of remanding him in police custody.

More shocking details have come to the fore in the case of so-called ‘human sacrifice’ in which two women were killed and their body parts mutilated as part of witchcraft in Elanthoor village of Pathanamthitta district in Kerala. Three persons including a couple were arrested in this connection. These women used to sell lottery tickets on the streets to make ends meet. Police said that the accused had performed the human sacrifice to solve the couple’s financial problems and bring prosperity in their lives.
