Tavera car hits electric pole: five dead on spot

Uttar Pradesh: Devotees on the way for Vindhyachal darshan from Sivagad in Soraon police station limits hit an electric pole on Thursday morning. Tavera car hits electric pole: five dead on spot. Five people including four women of the same family who were travelling in Tavera car died on the spot.

The accident took place near Handia Toll Plaza around 6.40 am. Vehicle number UP 78 BQ 3601 of  Sorao district in Prayagraj was on a pilgrimage and going for Vindhyachal darshan, the driver lost control of the vehicle near Hadiya toll plaza and ramped into a light pole.

As a result, 4 women including 1 girl died on the spot. The deceased include Rekha Sanjay Agrahari, Rekha Ramesh, Krishna Devi Shyamalal, Kavita Dinesh and one-year-old Kumari Ojas. Among the injured are Umesh Shyamalal, Priya Umesh, Gotu Ramesh, Rishabh Ram Sajivan Agrahari, and driver Irshad (all residents of Shivgarh). The injured have been sent to CHC Varadaha for treatment. According to media report , “At 6.40 am, Tavera car with ten people met with an accident near Handia toll plaza on Varanasi Highway. All the people were going to visit Vindhyachal from the village Sarai Lal under Shivgarh police station limits. The vehicle went out of control after hitting an electric pole before the toll plaza and the car blew up.

Five people died on the spot in the accident. Among the dead are 4 women and a year-old child.” The deceased include Rekha (45), Rekha (32), Krishna Devi (70), Kavita (36), and one-year-old Kumari Ojas. The injured, identified as Umesh, his wife Priya, their daughter Gotu (12), 26-year-old Rishabh and driver Irshad, are undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the incident and ordered the officials to go to the spot and get the relief work done.
