15 children were burnt to death and 3 seriously injured due to an electric shock during a special procession on the occasion of Shivratri festival

Mahashivratri: An incident occurred in Rajasthan’s Kota where 15 children were burnt to death and 3 seriously injured due to an electric shock during a special procession on the occasion of Shivratri festival.

It is learned that the condition of three of those children is critical and all of them have been admitted to a local hospital and are being given emergency treatment. There was a huge mishap in the procession of Lord Shiva in Kota, Rajasthan. Around 15 children were electrocuted during the Mahashivratri procession. Screams were heard at the scene during the accident.

As soon as they heard the screams of the children, the people there took the injured to the hospital. Currently, the team doctors are treating everyone. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also reached the hospital after getting information about the incident. Energy Minister Heeralal Nagar also reached the hospital along with Om Birla. All the injured children were admitted to MBS Hospital for treatment.

How did the accident happen?

Children between the ages of 16 and 19 carried religious flags in the Shiva procession held at Kali Basti in Sangatpur area of Kota, Rajasthan. At this time, the religious flag touched the high tension line, and at the same time water spread on the ground, so the current flowed rapidly.

Then one after another 14 children were electrocuted. Suddenly the children started clinging to each other. One child has 70% burns and the second child has 50% burns. 10% of the rest have been burned.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has said that a full investigation will be conducted. According to media reports, Kota City SP Amrita Dhawan said the incident took place between 12 pm and 12:30 pm. Some, including 20-25 children and some men and women, had gathered to fill the pot with water.
