DSP Sandipan Garg arrested in connection with singer Zubeen Garg’s suspicious death

Guwahati: In a shocking development, Assam Police DSP Sandipan Garg, a close relative of late singer Zubeen Garg, has been arrested in connection with the singer’s mysterious death in Singapore last month. Reports indicate that Sandipan was present with Zubeen at the time of his death.

CID Special DGP Munna Prasad Gupta confirmed the arrest, stating that Sandipan Garg had been interrogated multiple times in recent days and that necessary legal action is being taken.

With this, Sandipan becomes the fifth person arrested in the high-profile case. Earlier, police had detained Shyamkanu Mahanta, the main organizer of the North East Festival, manager Siddharth Sharma, and bandmates Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and Amrit Prabha Mahanta.

During interrogation, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami reportedly told investigators that Zubeen was allegedly poisoned in Singapore by Siddharth Sharma and Shyamkanu Mahanta, a revelation that has added a grim twist to the ongoing probe.

All five accused are currently in police custody as the CID continues to unravel the mystery surrounding the iconic singer’s untimely death.
