Dharmasthala Case: SIT raid Mahesh Shetty Thimarody house
Dharmasthala Case: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has conducted a raid on the residence of Mahesh Shetty Thimarody in Belthangady. The raid, which reportedly took place on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, was carried out after the SIT obtained a search warrant.
The raid is part of the ongoing investigation into the “mass burial” case in Dharmasthala. According to reports, the SIT’s action was prompted by information provided by an individual named Chinnayya, also known as “Mask Man,” who is a witness and now an accused in the case.
Chinnayya reportedly told the SIT that he had been staying at Thimarody’s house and that all the plans for the “Burude gang” (a reference to the fake skull case) were made there. He also claimed to have kept a bag and other belongings, including a mobile phone, at the residence. The SIT’s raid was reportedly to collect evidence, including the mobile phone and other items mentioned by Chinnayya.

Dharmasthala mask man” is C.N. Chinnayya, a resident of Mandya. He was the key complainant and witness who initially brought the “mass burial” case to public attention.
Chinnayya, a former sanitation worker in Dharmasthala, claimed that between 1995 and 2014, he was forced to bury the bodies of numerous women and children, some of whom showed signs of sexual assault and other violence. He had given a statement to a magistrate and provided a skull and bones as evidence.
During his interrogation, Chinnayya reportedly told the SIT that he had been staying at the residence of activist Mahesh Shetty Thimarody and that plans for the “Burude gang” (fake skull case) were made there. This information led the SIT to raid Thimarody’s house.
