Telangana: Five people died on the spot and 20 others were injured when a lorry and a tractor collided on the National Highway at Munagala in Suryapet, Telangana early on Sunday morning. A lorry collided with a traveling tractor, killing five people including a child and injuring 20 others. Collision between lorry and tractor: 5 killed, 20 injured.
The accident occurred when the deceased was returning home after worshiping at the Ayyappa temple on the outskirts of Munagal. Tenneru Pramila (35), Chintakayala Pramila (33), Udaya Lokesh (8), Naragoni Kotaiah (55) and Gundu Jyoti (38) died in the road accident. At least 30 people were traveling in the tractor when the vehicle took a wrong turn and entered the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway. At the same time, the lorry which was speeding towards Vijayawada collided with the tractor.
As a result of the collision, 30 people in the tractor fell from the vehicle onto the road. The speeding lorry tractor dragged it a long way. On receiving the information, police and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operations. The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Munagal circle inspector Anjaneyulu said that 30 people were traveling in the tractor. As a result, five people, including a child, were killed and 25 others were seriously injured. We are investigating the matter, looking into how the accident happened. Officials informed that the injured have been shifted to a local hospital for further medical treatment.
