Alappuzha: Five people died on the spot when a car collided with a lorry in the wee hours of Monday near Ambalapula in Kerala’s Alappuzha district. Five people were killed when a car collided with a lorry near Ambalapula in Alappuzha district of Kerala in the wee hours of Monday. The incident took place on the National Highway around 1.30 on Monday. A lorry carrying rice from Andhra Pradesh and a car carrying five people collided with each other. In the incident, four people died on the spot and another injured person died in the medical college hospital.

According to Ambalapula police, five people were in the car. Four died on the spot and one died at the Medical College Hospital. Four of them are from Thiruvananthapuram and one is from Kollam district of Kerala, who run the ISRO canteen. The deceased have been identified as Prasad, Shiju, Amal, Sachin and Sumod. Further investigations are underway and the police are yet to provide more details about the incident and the action taken.
