Prashant Veer is an Indian uncapped all-rounder who made history at the IPL 2026 Mini-Auction by becoming the most expensive uncapped player ever. Prashant Veer is a 20-year-old uncapped all-rounder from Uttar Pradesh. He is a right-handed batsman and a slow left-arm orthodox spinner.
His record-breaking price of Rs 14.20 crore (sold to Chennai Super Kings) in the IPL 2026 Mini-Auction makes him the most expensive uncapped player in IPL history. He was bought by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for Rs 14.20 crore. His base price was only Rs 30 lakh. He is a slow left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder and a right-handed batsman.
He has featured in a combined 11 first-class and T20 matches for Uttar Pradesh, picking up 14 wickets and contributing 119 runs in total. He has recently impressed in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, picking up 9 wickets in 7 innings.
He first came to prominence playing for Noida Super Kings, where he scored 320 runs and picked up 8 wickets in the tournament. He was recently the Player of the Tournament, amassing 289 runs and taking 15 wickets in the 2025-26 edition.
CSK views him as a long-term strategic investment, especially to help fill the gap created by the departure of Ravindra Jadeja, as Veer offers a similar skill set of left-arm spin and lower-order hitting prowess.
