Bihar: A 12-year-old girl was allegedly set on fire by her neighbour in Begusarai district of Bihar on Friday. The accused, Sikander Yadav, had allegedly set the girl on fire after she accidentally uprooted a plant while playing near his home in Sivarana village of Ninga Panchayat in Begusarai.
The victim was playing near Sikander’s home when she accidentally uprooted a plant. Noticing this, Sikander, his wife and daughter then confronted the girl and then beat her up for uprooting the plant.
Later, she was doused in kerosene and set ablaze. The girl has now been admitted to a hospital with critical burn injuries. A case has now been registered against Sikander Yadav.
DSP Begusarai Nishit Priya said Sikander Yadav, the neighbour, is accused of the crime and a process is underway to arrest him.
