Rain Intensity Eases Across Karnataka as Dry Weather Returns to Northern Districts
Heavy monsoon activity has weakened across Karnataka with coastal and Malnad regions expected to receive light rainfall while several northern districts are likely to experience mostly dry weather conditions ahead.

After days of intense monsoon activity, weather conditions across Karnataka have started showing signs of improvement. The heavy rainfall that disrupted daily life in several coastal and Malnad districts has eased considerably, prompting a return to more stable conditions in many parts of the state.
The India Meteorological Department has indicated that the earlier period of widespread heavy rain has come to an end for now. The red alert that had been issued for parts of the state is no longer in effect, bringing relief to residents who faced continuous rainfall and weather related disruptions over the past week.
Coastal districts including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada are expected to continue receiving light to moderate rainfall over the next few days. However, there is currently no forecast of extremely heavy rain for these areas, suggesting that the weather is likely to remain manageable compared to recent conditions.
The Malnad region is also expected to witness a calmer weather pattern. Districts such as Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu may experience scattered light showers in isolated locations, while widespread heavy rainfall is not anticipated. Gentle winds are also likely in several places across the region.
In contrast, northern interior Karnataka is expected to remain largely dry. Districts including Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi and Bidar are forecast to see little or no rainfall over the coming days. Although cloudy skies may appear occasionally, significant rain is not expected in these areas.
Southern interior districts such as Bengaluru, Mysuru and Hassan are also likely to experience mostly dry weather with only isolated light showers. Pleasant winds and stable conditions are expected to dominate across much of the region, making outdoor activities easier than they have been in recent days.
The latest forecast offers welcome relief after an extended spell of heavy monsoon showers that affected transportation, public services and everyday life in several districts. While occasional rainfall is still expected in parts of coastal and hilly Karnataka, the overall intensity of the southwest monsoon has reduced across the state.
Weather officials continue to advise residents to stay updated with local forecasts, as monsoon conditions can change quickly. For now, however, Karnataka appears to be entering a quieter phase, with improving weather bringing relief to both urban and rural areas.
