Samsung Galaxy M47 5G Gets Major Price Hike Just Weeks After Launch in India
Samsung has increased Galaxy M47 5G prices within weeks of launch making every storage variant significantly costlier despite offering premium features powerful hardware long software support and large battery.

Samsung has quietly raised the price of its recently launched Galaxy M47 5G in India, leaving many buyers surprised. The smartphone, which made its debut at the end of June and entered its first sale in early July, is now selling at prices that are up to Rs 8000 higher than its original launch rates.
The price revision affects every storage variant of the Galaxy M47 5G. Customers who were planning to purchase the phone at its launch price will now have to spend considerably more for the same device.
The base model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage was originally introduced at Rs 25999 and was available at an effective launch price of Rs 22999 through promotional offers. It is now listed at Rs 32999, reflecting a price increase of Rs 7000.
The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version has also become more expensive. Initially launched at Rs 28999, it is now available for Rs 36999. Similarly, the top end model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage has moved from its launch price of Rs 33999 to Rs 41999, making it Rs 8000 costlier than before.
The sudden increase has drawn attention because it comes only days after the phone became available for purchase. While smartphone prices have risen across the industry in recent months due to higher memory and component costs, such revisions usually affect devices that have been on the market for a longer period.
Several smartphone brands have already adjusted prices on existing models to offset increasing production expenses. However, the Galaxy M47 5G was launched with full knowledge of current manufacturing costs, leading some industry observers to question why such a significant price revision was introduced so soon after its release.
Some analysts believe the initial pricing may have been designed to attract early buyers before the standard retail pricing was applied. Although Samsung has not officially explained the reason behind the increase, the revised pricing has become a talking point among smartphone buyers.
Despite the higher cost, the Galaxy M47 5G continues to offer a competitive list of features. The smartphone runs Android 16 with Samsung One UI 8.5 and comes with a commitment of six major operating system upgrades along with six years of security updates. It also includes several AI powered features such as voice transcription and intelligent productivity tools.
The device features a 6.7 inch Full HD Plus Super AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Plus, providing improved durability against scratches and accidental drops.
Performance is handled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. This hardware combination is designed to deliver efficient multitasking, gaming performance and faster app loading speeds.
For photography, the Galaxy M47 5G includes a triple rear camera setup led by a 50 megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation. It is accompanied by a 5 megapixel ultra wide camera and a 2 megapixel macro sensor. On the front, the phone features a 12 megapixel selfie camera capable of recording 4K videos.
Battery life remains one of the strongest highlights of the smartphone. Samsung has equipped the Galaxy M47 5G with a large 6000mAh battery that supports 45W wired fast charging through a USB Type C port. The device also supports bypass charging, helping reduce heat generation during extended gaming or charging sessions.
Samsung claims the phone offers enhanced durability with improved scratch resistance and protection against accidental drops from heights of up to two metres. Even with the revised pricing, the Galaxy M47 5G remains positioned as a feature packed smartphone aimed at users seeking long software support, dependable performance and extended battery life.
