Phone call from friends lover triggers couple dispute; woman found hanging    

Chikkaballapura : A 25-year-old woman was found dead following a dispute with her husband in R. Chokkanahalli village of Chikkaballapura taluk, with the deceased woman’s family alleging that she was killed by her husband.

The deceased has been identified as Varalakshmi (25). According to preliminary information, a phone call made by her friend’s boyfriend to her mobile phone reportedly triggered the dispute between the couple.

Sources said that the call was answered by Varalakshmi’s husband Gangaraju instead of her. Following this, Gangaraju reportedly questioned his wife and warned her not to interfere in the relationship between her friend and the man who had called.

The argument between the couple reportedly escalated later. Soon afterwards, Varalakshmi was found hanging inside the house under suspicious circumstances, creating shock among residents of the village.

However, the woman’s family members have alleged foul play and accused Gangaraju of murdering her. They claimed that Varalakshmi did not die by suicide but was allegedly hanged by her husband after the dispute.

The incident has led to grief and anger among the victim’s relatives, who gathered at the spot and demanded a thorough investigation into the death. Family members have insisted that strict action be taken against the husband.

Meanwhile, the relatives have also accused the police and hospital authorities of not showing the body to them in time. They expressed anger against officials of the Peresandra Police Station and staff at the Gudibande Taluk Hospital.

Police have registered a case and begun an investigation into the incident. Officials said further details will emerge after the post-mortem report and statements from family members and witnesses are recorded.

The incident has once again highlighted concerns over domestic disputes leading to tragic consequences in rural areas.
