DK Shivakumar buys luxury Lexus LM 350h worth Rs 2.8 crore
Bengaluru: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has added a new high-end luxury vehicle to his fleet. Even as he remains in Delhi amid intense political developments, a brand-new Lexus LM 350h car worth Rs 2.8 crore was delivered to his residence in Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru on Tuesday.
The luxury car was home-delivered by the showroom staff of Lexus on February 11. Since DK Shivakumar is currently in the national capital, his wife Usha Shivakumar received the vehicle at their residence.
The arrival of the swanky white-coloured car has already created a buzz in political and automobile circles. The newly purchased Lexus LM 350h is a seven-seater luxury multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) known for its premium comfort and advanced features.
The car bears the registration number KA 03 NZ 6666. Designed especially for long-distance travel, the vehicle is considered ideal for VIP movement and fatigue-free journeys. According to sources, the Deputy Chief Minister chose this model mainly for its spacious interiors and superior comfort.
The Lexus LM 350h comes with an option of both seven-seater and four-seater configurations. The car is equipped with an eCVT transmission and e-Four all-wheel drive technology.
Under the hood, the vehicle has a powerful 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol hybrid engine that supports ethanol E20 fuel. It has a fuel tank capacity of 60 litres. The hybrid technology ensures smooth performance along with better fuel efficiency.
The car is packed with top-class features including 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, and a premium 23-speaker sound system. In terms of safety, it offers multiple airbags, ABS, EBD and several advanced driver assistance features.
Reports suggest that nearly 93 percent of users have given full marks to the vehicle for its exceptional comfort, while the remaining have rated it as very good. Interestingly, DK Shivakumar has become only the second Indian politician to own the Lexus LM 350h.
Before him, Tamil actor-turned-politician Vijay Joseph had purchased the same model for his political and personal travel. Vijay reportedly sold his Rolls Royce Ghost to buy the Lexus LM 350h.
The luxury car is currently used by only a handful of high-profile personalities in India. Business tycoon Mukesh Ambani’s family owns this model as part of their elite car collection. Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya is another prominent user of the Lexus LM 350h.
Several Bollywood celebrities also own the vehicle, including Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. With this latest purchase, DK Shivakumar has now joined the exclusive list of elite Lexus LM 350h owners in the country.
The acquisition comes at a time when the Deputy Chief Minister is actively involved in state politics and party affairs. The luxurious addition to his garage is being seen as a reflection of his preference for premium and comfortable travel options.
