Complaint filed against Bigg Boss winner Gilli actor for skipping film promotions

Bengaluru: Pressure is mounting for Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 winner Gilli actor as a formal complaint has been lodged against him at the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) by the producers of the movie Sarkari Shaale H-8.

The producers have accused the actor of completely ignoring promotional activities of the film despite being paid in full. Producer Guna Hariyabbe, who bankrolled the film, has submitted a written complaint to the Film Chamber stating that the actor has violated professional commitments.

According to the complaint, Gilli actor played a major role in the movie and was paid the entire remuneration even before he entered the Bigg Boss reality show. However, after coming out of the show, he allegedly refused to participate in any promotional events.

“We have requested him multiple times to attend promotional programs, but he has not responded. He has not even shared a single poster or post related to the film on his social media accounts. He is not answering our calls either,” the producer stated in his complaint.

The film team also alleged that despite organizing eight premiere shows across the state, the actor failed to attend even one of them. “We made eight premiere shows to promote the film. Every show received a good response from the audience. But Gilli actor did not turn up for any event. We don’t understand why he is avoiding promotions,” the producer lamented.

Sarkari Shaale H-8 has been made with the intention of promoting government schools and encouraging Kannada language education. The film has reportedly received appreciation from viewers. However, the makers feel that lack of support from the lead actor has badly affected its reach.

Industry sources say that the Film Chamber may issue a notice to the actor seeking an explanation. If he fails to provide a satisfactory response, disciplinary action could follow. In the past, several actors and technicians have faced temporary bans for violating KFCC rules.

There is growing speculation that this controversy could hamper the actor’s future career plans. Gilli actor has openly expressed his dream of becoming a film director in the Kannada industry.

But if the Film Chamber takes strict action, his entry into direction and future projects may face serious hurdles. After winning the Bigg Boss trophy, the actor has been busy attending political events, shop inaugurations and other public functions.

He has also been visiting the memorials of senior actors and participating in interviews. However, his absence from his own film promotions has disappointed not only the producers but also his fans.

Many fans have questioned his priorities, pointing out that he is available for other engagements but not for the film that gave him an acting platform. With the matter now officially reaching the Film Chamber, all eyes are on what explanation Gilli actor will give and what action will be taken in the coming days.
