CBSE Class 10 12 exam date again changed: New schedule announced

CBSE Class 10 12 exam: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) officially revised the 2026 Board Exam schedule on December 30, 2025. The change is specific to exams originally slated for March 3, 2026, which have been rescheduled due to administrative reasons and festival-related concerns (Holi).

All other exam dates remain unchanged as per the original datesheet. The primary changes affect specific language and elective papers for Class 10 and the Legal Studies paper for Class 12.

CBSE Class 10 Exam:

Original Date: March 3, 2026      

Revised Date: March 11, 2026    

Affected Subjects: Tibetan, German, NCC, Bhoti, Kashmiri, Mizo, etc.

CBSE Class 12 Exam:

Original Date: March 3, 2026      

Revised Date: April 10, 2026        

Affected Subjects: Legal Studies

Key Highlights of the 2026 Schedule

Start Date: Both Class 10 and 12 exams will begin on February 17, 2026.

Two-Phase System: CBSE is implementing a dual-exam format this year.

Phase 1 (Mandatory): Feb 17 – March/April 2026.

Phase 2 (Optional/Improvement): Scheduled for May 15 – June 1, 2026.

Exam Timing: Most theory papers will be held in a single morning shift from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with a 15-minute reading period starting at 10:15 AM.

Admit Cards: The revised dates will be automatically updated and reflected on the admit cards when they are issued (expected in late January or early February).

Feb 24: Accountancy

Feb 28: Chemistry

March 9: Mathematics / Applied Mathematics

March 12: English Core

March 18: Economics

April 10: Legal Studies (Revised Final Paper)
