Bengaluru Woman Seriously Injured After Jumping From Hotel Balcony During Police Raid
Bengaluru: A young woman sustained critical injuries after jumping from a hotel balcony during a police raid while attending a party with friends at a hotel in HAL’s AECS Layout.
The incident took place over the weekend, leaving the victim fighting for her life in a private hospital in Kundalahalli. She suffered severe head and spinal injuries in the fall.
According to reports, eight friends, including the injured woman, had booked three rooms at the hotel for a party on Saturday night. The group was dancing and playing music when locals noticed the commotion and informed the authorities.
Within minutes, Hoysala police arrived at the hotel. Frightened by the sudden police presence, the young woman jumped from the balcony, landing on iron grills below, which resulted in severe injuries. Her friends immediately rushed her to the hospital.
The incident has raised questions about the conduct of the police during the raid. According to one of the male attendees, the police entered the hotel and requested the group to show videos of the party.
They allegedly asked for cash from the group, refusing a digital payment option. When one of the men went to withdraw cash from an ATM, the woman jumped from the balcony. The case has since been registered at the HAL police station, and authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In addition, the hotel management is facing legal action for negligence. The woman’s father lodged a complaint, leading to an FIR being filed against the hotel owners for failing to ensure the safety of guests on the balcony.
Allegations have also surfaced suggesting that the police may have attempted to cover up any wrongdoing, resulting in the FIR being lodged against the hotel management.
The incident highlights concerns over safety protocols in hotel premises and the handling of situations involving police intervention. Local authorities have stated that they are thoroughly investigating the matter, reviewing security footage, and questioning all involved parties to ascertain the sequence of events.
Meanwhile, the injured woman remains in critical condition at the hospital, with medical staff closely monitoring her. The Bengaluru police have appealed to hotel operators and citizens to ensure safety measures are strictly followed to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
