Bengaluru: A shocking robbery attempt caught on video has gone viral on social media, showing three men attacking an individual on a scooter in Shantinagar, Bengaluru. The disturbing footage has caught the attention of local authorities, as well as Bengaluru Central MP P.C. Mohan, who has called for immediate police action.
What the video reveals:
The video, shared by MP P.C. Mohan on his social media, shows the victim riding his scooter when he is blocked by another scooter ridden by three men. The men immediately start assaulting him and attempting a robbery, with one of the attackers searching the victim’s pockets for valuables. The victim tries to defend himself but is struck on the head with a club by one of the assailants. After the assault and robbery, the attackers quickly flee the scene.
Public reaction and police response:
The video has sparked widespread outrage, with many social media users commenting on the growing insecurity in Karnataka. One user wrote, “There’s no safety in Karnataka anymore,” while another described the incident as an example of “goondagiri” (hooliganism).
Despite the video being widely circulated, it remains unclear whether police have made any arrests or if action has been taken against the assailants. MP P.C. Mohan has demanded that Bengaluru city police take swift action to arrest the culprits.
MP’s call for action:
P.C. Mohan, who has previously highlighted issues related to infrastructure and civic problems in his constituency, reiterated the need for quick police intervention in this case. “This is a clear case of violent crime in broad daylight, and the police must take immediate steps to apprehend those responsible,” he said. Authorities are currently investigating the incident and are expected to take action soon.
