Woman Plotting Bombing Incident to Obtain Arms License, Police Reveal

Woman Plotting Bombing: The Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police, while investigating a bombing case registered last month at Bharatpur Police Station, uncovered a startling conspiracy involving the complainant herself.

According to Police Commissioner S. Dev Datta Singh, Ghunguru Misra filed a complaint on October 11 regarding two bombs exploding outside her residence on October 10. However, further investigation revealed that Misra had orchestrated the entire episode to create grounds of life threats, aiming to secure an arms license.

The police discovered that Misra conspired with her own driver, Nandu Chandan Nayak (a past accused in criminal cases), Santosh Mahakhud alias Santu, and Debasis Mohapatra alias Deba to stage the incident. Pursuing the plan to obtain a firearms license, the accused carried out the bombings as orchestrated by Misra, who then lodged false complaints leading to two FIRs at Bharatpur Police Station.

CCTV footage from Misra’s residence captured the entire event, and the conspirators attempted to mislead the probe. Further inquiry established that Deba procured the firearms, whereas Misra provided five rounds of ammunition. The explosives were supplied by Santu and Nandu.

While Nandu Chandan Nayak, Santosh Mahakhud, and Debasis Mohapatra have been arrested, Misra remains at large. The police are actively searching for her custody.

This incident underscores the potential misuse of life threat claims to manipulate legal frameworks and obtain arms licenses illegitimately, posing challenges for law enforcement agencies.
