The Banashankari police have arrested three accused, while one remains at large.
Kanakapushpamma lived with her son Rahul, who works in real estate. They had employed a domestic driver for household and transport duties. Displaying remarkable courage, she pretended to be dead, saving her life. The gang looted around ₹8.5 lakh in cash and fled, but the commotion alerted neighbors.
Local residents quickly informed the police, helping Ganesh get apprehended on the spot. Subsequent investigation led to the arrests of Madival and Vitthal, while the mastermind Madival is still evading capture.
Kanakapushpamma was immediately taken to a private hospital for treatment. Her condition is now stable, and hospital sources confirmed that she is recovering well. Police revealed that the accused knew the house layout and routines due to prior employment, which allowed them to plan the robbery meticulously.
The Banashankari police continue to interrogate the arrested men and are conducting operations to recover the stolen cash. Citizens have been urged to remain vigilant, verify the identity of anyone entering homes under the pretense of food delivery or courier services, and avoid letting strangers in unverified.
