Hassan heart attack case: A sudden surge in heart attack-related deaths in Karnataka’s Hassan district has raised public health concerns, with 22 people dying over the past 40 days, many of them under the age of 45.

On July 4th that a 21-year-old youth and a 55-year-old woman were among the latest casualties due to heart attack in Hassan district. This brings the total number of deaths in the district to 35 in a little over a month.

Significant number of deaths in recent weeks it reports that 22 people have died due to heart-attack-related problems in 40 days in Karnataka’s Hassan district. Many of the victims are reportedly young or middle-aged, with five of the 22 dead between 19 and 25 years old, and eight between 25 and 45.

Hassan heart attack case Expert Committee Formed: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has ordered a high-level probe and formed a committee of experts, led by Dr. Ravindranath, Director of Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, to investigate the causes of these deaths and submit a report within 10 days.

District health officials are visiting houses and gathering details from the families of the deceased to understand the circumstances and potential contributing factors. While lifestyle, diet, and non-communicable diseases are being considered, there’s also been public and political debate regarding a potential link to Covid-19 vaccines, though central health authorities have dismissed this link, citing scientific studies.

The situation is being taken very seriously by the state government, and efforts are underway to understand the reasons behind this surge in heart-related fatalities in Hassan.
