Weather Alert: According to India Meteorological Department (IMD) Considering the current climate feature, the circulation is near the Konkan coast of the Eastern Arabian Sea up to 7.6 km. Weather Alert: Red alert issued on Karnataka 6 districts.

With this, the coastal districts are expected to be heavy rain from June 17 to 20, while some of the northern and southern inland areas are also expected. The Red Alert has been announced on June 17, with heavy rainfall in some parts of Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu districts.

Orange Alert has been announced on June 17 for Belagavi and Hassan districts. Since June 18, Karnataka has been more likely to reduce rainfall and sorting across the state. The weather department said that on June 17, there is a modest rainfall in some parts of Bangalore.

The southwest monsoon rains have continued in most districts of Kerala, and the state is on high alert. As a precautionary measure, a holiday has been declared for educational institutions in Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Malappuram, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Idukki and Kottayam on Monday (June 16, 2025).

School holiday on June 17:

Due to heavy rainfall the Uttara Kannada district administration has declared a holiday for all educational institutions on Tuesday, June 17, as a safety precaution.

The order, issued by District Collectors all schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, tuition centres, anganwadis, and special coaching classes across the district.
